An Apple A Day…
It seems 2010 will be the year Apple addicts begin to check themselves into tech-rehab to no avail.
With free updates and personalized apps to fit your specific lifestyle, how could anyone slow down their daily Apple intake?
Recently, outlandish rumors of top secret products and ridiculous software enhancements have resurfaced all over the net, naturally the speculation never gets far thanks to the legal bullies on Apple’s behalf. While their efforts to keep Apple developments as top secret as the war in Iraq seem to be working, they also benefit the techie types looking for clues leading to the next big thing.
Back in July 2008, Geek Gods predicted an all touch screen Macbook release early 2010. Can’t wrap your mind around what that means? Well, consider it the hybrid lovechild of the famed Macbook and revolutionary iPhone. Now allow me to paint a pretty picture.. Imagine a 7” – 10” touch screen device with a full gesture library, compatible with the App store, Mac Applications, Full OS X, a slot-loading super drive, accelerometer, GPS – and predicted to be priced to sell. The powerplant within the tablet is said to be a Cortex A-class ARM processor, which is an advanced version of the chip used in the iPhone you probably already have in your pocket, and could conceivably support multitasking. Wireless capability is also expected, and models will include Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, although a lower-cost base model may lack this crucial feature.
A fan mockup of expected tablet.
Apple has been secretly investing time and money on a slew of chip designers and its new franchise. This device is the mobile computing equivalent to a wet dream and is anticipated to lead the net book market by a landslide. The tentative titles are said to be iSlate, iPad, or the iBook and is rumored to not just specialize in the usual editing and design, music, movies, interactive games, email and surf an optimized World Wide Web, but also master digital versions of books, magazines and newspapers – This time around, they’re not just focused on the graphics and conveyance of creativity, but are looking to dominate the educational world, as well. Apple and the publishing industry envision the tablet doing for print what the iPod did for music.
Now that I have you salivating on your keyboards, keep in mind the anticipated global launch is said to be April 2010 and Steve Jobs is scheduled to go live and spill the sauce on this futuristic fantasy and the new iPhone 4.0 at the Apple conference in Australia in just a little over 12 hours. Stay tuned!
