Mammút

Mammút

Mammút is yet another band from Iceland that’s doing it good, featuring amazing vocals and innovative music that’s moving the life.is/music team these days. The band consists of three girls and two boys, around the age of 20, but was founded in late 2003 when they were only 14 to 16 years old. In March of 2004 Mammút won the annual battle of the bands (Músíktilraunir) in Iceland.

These talented kids are inspiring the shit out of the youth in Iceland and making a very impressive impact on the rest of Europe and the states and I’m sure they will please the rest of you, specially if they start writing English lyrics; not that I think they’re doing it wrong by singing in Icelandic – not at all! I love that. The amount of hopes and believes I have for this band is beyond any success an Icelandic artist has yet conquered.

…including Björk… shit can I say that? ok, maybe not but we´ll see.. just keep an eye on them.. or an ear (Sorry Björk, ef þú skildir lesa þetta.. ég elska þig)

I hope I wont get denied citizenship when I go back home… But I’m not alone, Magazines like Rolling Stone and Music Week have named Mammút as a band to watch for the future, and most people that have listened to them seem to agree.
